    Welcome to the Article Index! This is the page to visit for information related to the sport of downhill skiing. The ski articles will focus primarily on the needs of recreational, downhill skiers who want to become expert skiers. The topics will deal with expert skiing, preseason conditioning, and ski equipment.

    Ski equipment is important, but skiing at an expert level requires a preseason conditioning program that builds strength and flexibility in the muscles groups used in downhill skiing. Expert skiing is not meant to get you in shape during the season. On the contrary, you need to be in shape before the season starts so you can ski all of the terrain on the mountain in a safe, controlled manner.
